An exciting mix of white-knuckle and child-friendly rides makes the Pleasure Beach ideal for a fun family day out.
All of our rides are subject to minimum height restrictions, these are detailed below.
Family Ride

Big Apple Coaster
The Big Apple Coaster promises high-speed fun for children.
Four passengers sit in each of the caterpillar train’s six cars as they rumble around an undulating 138m steel track.
It’s the perfect first taste of a rollercoaster for any child.
Before it arrived at the Pleasure Beach in 1998, The Big Apple Coaster, made by Pinfari in 1982, was a favourite at Alton Towers.
Ride Restrictions
- Minimum height to ride: 1.1m
- Children between 0.9m and 1.1m must be accompanied by a more mature person
Family Ride

4D cinema
Far more than just a cinema – feel the full force of a 4-D experience. 3-D imagery and special effects of lighting, moving seats, water sprays, air blasts, leg ticklers, smells and bubbles make our 2022 film ‘The Time Carousel’ an unforgettable experience.
The film is shown daily through the season. Our cinema is wheelchair friendly.
Ride Restrictions:
- Under 8 years must be accompanied by a responsible person.
- No babies in arms.
Kids’ Ride

Bonanza
The Bonanza ride consists of ten named horses which nod up and down whilst you ride them along a steel track. Can you name all ten horses? The Bonanza first arrived approx. 1989.
Ride Restrictions:
- Minimum height to ride: 1.0m
- Children under 1.0m must be accompanied by a more mature person
- No babies in arms
Kids’ Ride

Cups & Saucers
An old favourite, our small Cups and Saucers style ride for the little ones consists of six cups. Passengers have the choice of spinning the cups themselves. First arrived at the Pleasure Beach approx. 1993.
Ride Restrictions:
- Minimum height to ride: 0.9m
- Children under 0.9m must be accompanied by a more mature person
- No babies in arms
Thrill Ride

Disko
Experience the unique sensation of the spectacular Disko as you look out across the Pleasure Beach. This ride’s unusual feature is that the 24 riders face outwards sitting in a circle.
As the Disko starts to spin, it runs along a curved track from side-to-side in a ‘U’ shape that gives riders a “unique sensation”.
Visually stunning, the Disko was produced by Zamperla and has been at the Pleasure Beach since 2004.
Ride Restrictions
- Minimum height to ride: 1.2m
Retro Ride

Dodgems
Old favourites never go out of fashion. Our Dodgems are as popular today as they were when the track was laid in 1968.
The cars have been replaced over the years though!
Each car takes two passengers.
Ride Restrictions:
- Passenger minimum height: 1.0m
- Driver minimum height: 1.25m
Thrill Ride

Family star
The spectacular spinning coaster Family Star arrived at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach in 2013 and has become one our most popular rides, spinning thrill-seekers into a frenzy of excitement.
Ride Restrictions:
- Minimum height to ride: 1.3m
Family Ride

Floaty Boaty
New for 2022. Once embarked, passengers in the Tugboat are driven back and forth along a concave arc. While this is happening, the ride rotates around its centre.
Ride Restrictions:
- Minimum height to ride 1.1m
- Children between 0.9m and 1.1m must be accompanied by a more mature person
Family Ride

Flying Dumbo
The Flying Dumbo ride, holds a maximum of 24 passengers in 12 cars. Each car is mounted on an articulated armature connected to a rotating hub. The ride flies its passengers at a constant speed.
Ride Restrictions
- Minimum height to ride: 1.2 m.
- Children between 0.9m and 1.2m must be accompanied by a more mature person.
Kids’ Ride

Freefall
Freefall is a small tower ride suitable for children. It seats eight people at a time. Enjoy 360° views over the Pleasure Beach as you rotate around the central column.
It arrived at Great Yarmouth at the start of the 2015 season.
Ride Restrictions:
- Minimum height to ride: 1.2m
- Children between 1.0m and 1.2m must be accompanied by a more mature person
Family Ride

Fun Factory
The Fun Factory is an enclosed themed walk through ride with moving floors. For health and safety reasons customers are not allowed to wear open-toed shoes on this ride.
Ride Restrictions:
- Minimum height to ride: 1.1m
- Children between 0.9m and 1.1m must be accompanied by a more mature person
- No open-toe shoes permitted

Thrill Ride

Lightning 360
The Lightning 360 is a custom-built ride created for Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach! It sits on a tower with eight arms each supporting a two-seater plane. The Planes can turn 360 degrees and is controlled by the user.
Ride Restrictions
- Minimum height to ride: 1.3 m.
Retro Ride

Gallopers
A traditional ride that never loses its appeal. The 30 horses and two chariots made by Savage’s in 1901 inspire nostalgia and has been carrying riders for well over 120 years.
Ride Restrictions:
- Minimum height to ride: 0.9m
- Children under 0.9m must be accompanied by a more mature person
- No babies in arms.
Family Ride

Haunted Hotel
Are you brave enough to visit the Haunted Hotel?
The Haunted House is a classic at any amusement park. Our Haunted Hotel was renovated in 2019, it consists of two passengers riding in a themed car along a track in an enclosed themed haunted hotel.

- Minimum height to ride: 0.9m
- Children under 0.9m must be accompanied by a more mature person
- No babies in arms.

Thrill Ride

Log Flume
The Log Flume, with its plunges and splashes, was an instant success when it opened in front of the main gate in 1989.
It remains one of our most popular rides and is a great way to cool off on a hot summer’s day.
Travelling along water-filled circuits, passengers in fibreglass boats – up to five per boat – feel a full force plummet after conveyor belts pull them up to 5, 8, then 11 metres before they plunge to ground level giving the riders a real soaking.

Family Ride

Monorail
The Monorail has eight, four-seated cars of which five can be on the track at any one time.
Sit back, relax and enjoy the views, as the themed monorail car makes its way round the track, over the Snails and through the Rollercoaster. The Monorail was first seen at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach in 1987.
Ride Restrictions:
- Minimum height to ride: 1.25m
- Children under this height must be accompanied by a more mature person

Retro Ride

Pirate Ship
This huge, swinging Pirate Ship themed gondola is another fantastic ride from Zamperla.
Up to 33 passengers swing on an A-frame, high into the air.
Ride Restrictions:
- Minimum height to ride: 1.1m
Kids’ Ride

Raft Ride
The Raft Ride, is a pirate themed ride, it has eight raft-style cars which rotate round a central column. Passengers can choose to move the rafts up and down themselves using a small button located on each individual raft.

- Minimum height to ride: 1.1m
- Children between 0.9m and 1.1m must be accompanied by a more mature person.
Thrill Ride

Pendulum
New for the 2022 Season. Located next to the Rollercoaster, this sixteen seater attraction will send terrified riders upside down over 50ft (15.5m) in the air!

Thrill Ride

Reverse Time
Reverse Time holds 24 passengers seated in a circle, facing outwards. As the ride starts to spin, it is lifted into the air with the supporting turntable rotating in the opposite direction. Guests will dip and dive as the ride reaches a maximum of 20 revolutions per minute. Mid-cycle the ride will change direction!

Thrill Ride

Sky Drop
Standing 22 metres tall above the seafront fun is our magnificent Sky Drop.
Shipped in from Italy where it was made by leading ride designer and producer Zamperla, the Sky Drop opened in 2004 and its pneumatic cylinders launch 16 passengers at a time into the sky for panoramic views of the beach, sea, town, seafront attractions and for miles around.

Retro Ride

Snails & Fairy Tales
Children – and grown-ups too – adore riding in our Snails among favourite fairy tale, nursery rhyme and cartoon characters through magical scenes indoors and out.
They especially love the famous giant who stands guard outside. The Snails have been at the Pleasure Beach since 1966 and were manufactured by Wadbrooke/Bottons.

Retro Ride

Roller Coaster
Our traditional wooden rollercoaster is undoubtedly the star attraction at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach, it is one of only two wooden rollercoasters still standing in the UK and draws both rollercoaster enthusiasts and families.
It opened in 1932, visitors return year after year to enjoy the thundering ride they remember as children.
Built in France in 1928, it has a single pull-up and, once the train has left the top, it travels under gravity until it arrives back at the station – thrilling every passenger on the way.
Three trains, each carrying up to 30 people, can be used on the track at one time. A seated operator controls the brakes at the rear of the first carriage on each train. Unusually, there are no brakes fitted to the track at all.

- Due to the nature of the ride children / vulnerable people should be accompanied by a responsible person
Retro Ride

Twister
The Twister, another classic ride at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach, consists of three arms with four cars on each arm. The arms spin anti-clockwise while the cars spin independently on each arm.
The Twister arrived approx. in 1999.

- Minimum height to ride: 1.25m
Family Ride

Whirlwind
The Whirlwind is a figure of eight rollercoaster ride. The train consists of four cars, each accommodating up to four people sitting back to back. As the train flies around the track the cars spin independently of each other.
Ride Restrictions:
- Minimum height to ride: 1.2m
- Children between 1.0m and 1.2m must be accompanied by a more mature person
Kids’ Ride

Yo-Yo Ride
The Yo-Yo ride can accommodate 16 passengers, consists of eight seats suspended from arms, which rotate around a central point. As the ride starts the seats go up and down like a yo-yo.

- Minimum height to ride: 1.0m
- Children under this height must be accompanied by a more mature person
